Defendants Dennis Dvorin and Jason Lyn have been severed from the upcoming Infinity2Global criminal trial.
As ordered by the court, Dvorin and Lyn will face a separate trial at a later date.
Following a “recent diagnosis of a malignant tumor under his tongue”, Defendant Dvorin approached the court asking be severed from main I2G trial.
Dvorin’s motion was unopposed by the DOJ, and granted by the court on July 1st.
In its order the court also took it upon itself to sever defendant Jason Lyn.
While not raised by any of the parties, it also appropriate to sever the charges against Syn. In general, a court may sua sponte grant a motion to sever.
As scheduled, this is a six-week trial based on a thirteen-count Second Superseding Indictment against several defendants based on numerous criminal statutes relating to an alleged multi-level marketing scheme.
The Court believes that it would be more efficient and effective to sever two Defendants and to allow the currently scheduled trial to proceed against three Defendants.
That main Infinity2Global trial remains scheduled to kick off in a few days on July 12th.
As per the courts order, the trial will see defendants Richard G. Maike, Doyce G. Barnes, and Faraday N. Hosseinipour defend their Infinity2Global Ponzi scamming.
