SmartMula fails to provide ownership or executive information on its website.
SmartMula’s website domain (“smartmula.com”), was registered on OCtober 24th, 2021. The private registration was last updated on December 26th, 2022.
As always, if an MLM company is not openly upfront about who is running or owns it, think long and hard about joining and/or handing over any money.
SmartMula has no retailable products or services.
Affiliates are only able to market SmartMula affiliate membership itself.
SmartMula affiliate membership provides access to “many Online Products including Programming and Forex lessons”.
SmartMula’s Compensation Plan
SmartMula affiliates pay $5. Commissions are paid when they recruit others who do the same.
SmartMula pays referral commissions down three levels of recruitment (unilevel):
I don’t have specific USD amounts but SmartMula affiliates in Kenya were charged 450 KSH to join.
This is commission spread on a 450 KSH SmartMula membership fee:
- level 1 (personally recruited affiliates) – 250 KSH (~55%)
- level 2 – 100 KSH (~22%)
- level 3 – 50 KSH (~11%)
SmartMula affiliate membership is $5. This appears to be a one-time payment.
SmartMula is a simple pyramid scheme. New recruits pay $5, which funds recruitment commissions of those who recruit them.
The bundling of services with SmartMula affiliate membership is irrelevant to it being a pyramid scheme. In SmartMula’s MLM opportunity, nothing is marketed or sold to retail customers.
100% of commissions paid out in SmartMula are tied to recruitment, which is what makes it a pyramid scheme.
From what I can gather SmartMula was initially promoted across Africa, namely in Nigeria, Kenya and Uganda (possibly elsewhere). That has now collapsed.
SimilarWeb tracks a continued decline in traffic to SmartMula’s website:
It seems that SmartMula has collapsed everywhere except Egypt.
Unless new victims are found elsewhere, when SmartMula recruitment inevitably collapses in Egypt, that’ll be the end of the scam.
Math guarantees the majority of participants in MLM pyramid schemes lose money.
